Description

This is an Oshkosh award winning 1947 Aeronca 11BC Chief that has been completely restored in 2024. It has an airframe time of 1126 hours. The engine has 67 hours since major overhaul and has been modified to 110HP. The propeller also has 67 hours since new. It is equipped with VFR avionics including a Trig TY91 Com, Trig TH70 GPS, and Trig TT@@ Transponder with ADS-B In/Out. It also has a panel mount for a Garmin G660 (unit not included) and a mount for a Garmin GDL-69 (unit not included). Additional features include 12V USB ports. The exterior and interior are both rated 10/10 and are cream and red. Restoration notes include a sandblasted airframe, Polyfiber fabric cover, Aerothane paint, and LED lights. It has rebuilt landing gear oleos, new tires and tubes, and new tinted glass. The interior features a two-tone Airtex design with a baggage area and Hobbs meter. It also has low oil pressure annunciator, LED interior lights, and PTT's for both pilot and co-pilot. Other features include new engine baffling, chromed yokes and door handles, new antennas, Wag Aero seat belts and shoulder harnesses, a 406 ELT, custom wiring harnesses, new Slick mags, custom stainless steel control cables, a lightweight battery, and fuel tanks with 8 gallon aux and 15 gallon header. Restoration STC’s include Bill Pancake Install for C 85-12, Bill Pancake STC for B&C Alternator & Starter, Aircraft Specialties Stroker Conversion, Spin On Oil Filter, Tanis Engine Pre-Heat System, Steve’s Aircraft Gascolator, Fabricated Fuel Lines, New McCauly Propeller, and Skyboss Aviation Engine Rebuild. Complete log books are available. The next annual inspection is due in June 2026. There is no known damage history. The aircraft is described to be in new condition and always hangared and impeccably maintained. It cruises at 6 GPH and is based in Kansas.
